About Our Firm

Attorneys at Law · Bristol, Bucks County, PA

Our Story

Ballow & Lynde is a newly formed partnership, but its roots run deep. Barry Ballow has been practicing law in Bucks County since 1968. He served as a partner at Jackson, Bortner and Ballow in Fairless Hills before founding his own firm in 1978. Over the decades, that firm grew to include a team of seven full-time attorneys and became a fixture of the lower Bucks County legal community.

Marc Lynde spent over a decade at national law firms in New York City and Philadelphia before returning to Bucks County, where he grew up. In 2022, Marc joined Barry at the Veterans Highway office. In 2026, they formed Ballow & Lynde, combining Barry's unmatched local knowledge and estate planning depth with Marc's litigation experience and practice in real estate, business law, and elder law.

Our approach is straightforward: we provide real legal information, honest assessments, and responsive service. We'll tell you if you don't need a trust. We'll tell you if a lawsuit isn't worth filing. We believe the best legal relationships are built on candor, not upselling.

Barry Ballow isn't just a Bucks County attorney. He's a Bucks County native whose roots in the community run generations deep. Barry grew up in Bristol, where his family operated Ballow's Shoes at 308 Mill Street, a beloved local institution that served the community for decades. It was there, watching his family build lasting relationships one customer at a time, that Barry first learned the value of the personal touch, a principle that has guided his legal career ever since.

A proud graduate of Delhaas High School in Bristol, Barry went on to earn his law degree and launched his legal career in the 1970s, quickly establishing himself as a trusted advocate in Bucks County. He earned the confidence of clients and colleagues alike, serving as a partner at Jackson, Bortner and Ballow in Fairless Hills before founding his own firm in 1978. Over the years, the firm grew to include a team of seven full-time attorneys handling a broad range of legal matters for individuals, families, and businesses throughout the region.

Barry has prepared hundreds of wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, and has successfully probated hundreds of estates before the Bucks County Register of Wills, working closely with executors, trustees, and beneficiaries to ensure proper and efficient administration. His practice encompasses estate planning and administration, corporate and real property transactions, and civil litigation including divorce, custody, and personal injury cases.

Barry's commitment to the legal profession extends well beyond his own practice. He has served in leadership positions within the Bucks County Bar Association, including as Chairman of the Fee Disputes Committee, and has contributed to numerous other bar association committees over the years. He has also served as Solicitor to the Bucks County Prothonotary and has been active in Bucks County's business community, including involvement in significant real estate development projects in Falls Township.

In 2019, Barry relocated his office to the historic Delhaas High School building in Bristol, PA, now known as the Bucks County Office Center. In a fitting full-circle moment, the firm is located in the very halls where his journey began. This ADA-accessible location provides clients with convenient access and a welcoming environment.

Marc spent eight years litigating at firms in New York City and Philadelphia, including Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, Marshall Dennehey Warner Coleman & Goggin, and Pasternack Tilker before returning to Bucks County in 2019. He joined Barry at the Veterans Highway office in 2022, and in 2026, the two formed Ballow & Lynde. Marc's litigation background gives him a perspective most estate planning and real estate attorneys lack: he's seen what goes wrong when documents are drafted carelessly, and he drafts with an eye toward anticipating disputes before they arise. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New York, and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Marc grew up in Lower Makefield, attended George School, went to the University of Wisconsin–Madison for undergrad, and earned his law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.

Bucks County Roots

Both attorneys at Ballow & Lynde have deep ties to Bucks County. Barry grew up in Bristol, where his family ran Ballow's Shoes on Mill Street for decades. Marc grew up in Lower Makefield and attended George School. His maternal grandfather, Dr. William L. Goldfarb, operated a podiatry practice on Mill Street in Bristol. Marc's father, Dr. William S. Lynde, founded Newtown Foot & Ankle Specialists and, after Dr. Goldfarb's death, took over the Bristol office as well. Today the practice is run by Marc's brother, Dr. Michael J. Lynde, out of their Newtown office, while their father is semi-retired. Mill Street is a few blocks from where both Barry and Marc practice law today.

How We Work

When you call 215-949-0888, you speak with an attorney, not a receptionist, not a paralegal, not a voicemail tree. Your case is handled directly by the attorneys who know it best.

We believe attorneys have an obligation to explain the law in terms their clients actually understand. That's why this website exists: over 175 articles covering Pennsylvania law in plain language, with real filing fees, real deadlines, and real procedures. If you can find the answer yourself, you should be able to. And if the answer is "you need a lawyer for this," you'll know exactly why.
